Do I have to register as a Green to vote for Green candidates?
No! Washington does not have partisan registration. If you are registered to vote, all Greens running in elections that cover your district will appear on your ballot and you do not need to do anything additional to vote for them.
What are the benefits of being a member of the Green Party?
The Green Party of Washington is led by its members! Joining as a dues-paying member means having a say on everything from our platform, which candidates/campaigns we endorse, which organizations we partner with, and who our party leadership is.
Can I volunteer without being a member?
Absolutely! Our meetings and actions are open to everyone. Feel free to show up, meet the team, and get involved. Membership will be available whenever you feel it’s the right time for you.
Can I run as a Green?
Yes and we hope you will! In Washington, candidates may list anything as their “Party Preference” on their ballot meaning as a candidate it’s up to you.
We strongly recommend that all Green candidates become a dues-paying member and seek an endorsement from the Green Party of Washington and any relevant local chapters. This process helps us build a stronger party and recruit candidates aligned with our values.
