I attended The Fight to Elect the First Ever Revolutionary Socialist to U.S. Congress meeting this Wednesday for Kshama Sawant with Workers Strike Back.
What I learned is that we have a real shot to get Kshama into the general election, but only if we go all out NOW!
Nothing is guaranteed. While Kshama’s movement has a track record of achieving massive material wins for the working class in Seattle, that does not mean winning this primary will be a cake walk—especially against a powerful, corporate incumbent and loyal representative of the military-industrial complex like Adam Smith.
We have to fight like hell. We have to be as ruthless against the capitalist class as it is against us. We need you to SHOW UP this weekend. It’s our final shot before the primary election on Tuesday, August 4th.
So much is on the line. We can have a bought-off Zionist warmonger continue to represent WA’s 9th Congressional District, or we can have a fighter who is calling for a permanent arms embargo on Israel.
Kshama will also fight for free healthcare by taxing the rich, national rent control, shutting down ICE, a $25 an hour minimum wage and more. She will deploy the strategy that we have seen win right here on the ground in Washington.
It’s going to take all of us to defeat Adam Smith and send revolutionary shockwaves across this country at a time when we need it most. We’re counting on you to join us.
Kshama Sawant is a GPWA member who has the full endorsement of the Green Party of Washington.
