Single-Payer Healthcare Advocates tell senior healthcare executives enough is enough with a Die-in on the steps of The Westin Seattle
Seattle, WA, January 9, 2020 — Our message, enough is enough. Single-payer NOW.
Lack of health insurance is associated with an estimated 30-90 thousand deaths per year, in the US. Today, more than 30 million Americans still don’t have health insurance and even more are under-insured. Even for those with insurance, costs are so high that medical bills are the number one cause of bankruptcy in the United States. Our people deserve better.
Join volunteers from Whole Washington, Our Revolution Berniecrats Coalition, Red Berets Medicare for All, and other allies from other single-payer healthcare advocacy groups – outside the 2020 Washington State of Reform Healthcare Conference – in saying enough is enough. Single-payer NOW.
Despite the popularity of single-payer healthcare, these senior healthcare executives and so-called health policy leaders do not even have single-payer healthcare on the agenda for their 2020 conference.

Whole Washington is a grassroots coalition of healthcare professionals, activists and volunteers from all sectors, age groups, and perspectives across the State of Washington and beyond. Our common belief is that healthcare is a human right, and with that principle in mind, we are passionately fighting for a single-payer, Universal Healthcare system to serve all of us.
We endorse efforts on both a state and national level and support organizations that are working with urgency to make Universal Healthcare a reality. Our focus is on those that are struggling and vulnerable, not the privileged few who may be inconvenienced. We do not support delay tactics, incremental approaches, or any effort that assumes the for-profit model can stay in place for necessary care. We believe the only way to true social justice, cost relief, and personal freedom is through a single-payer system.
